A birth doula is a non-medical professional who prepares a pregnant person via birth education and may also support them emotionally and physically through birth as well.
What’s the difference between a birth doula and midwife?
A midwife is a medically trained professional who cares for the health of mother/birthing person and baby. Their focus is delivery and medical care, while a doula focuses on the emotional support and physical needs of their client. A doula may offer education and resources in preparation for birth along with different comfort measures or help you to find the best birthing position during labor.
What is a postpartum doula?
A postpartum doula, while they may also offer newborn care and education, more so focuses on non-medical aftercare for mother/birthing person and familial integration. They help by supporting the transitioning family during those first 0-3 months after birth.
What is Yoga?
